More to come!!!

Madeline and I went to Brussels on our last Saturday, we explored the historic center of the city, that we unknowingly stumbled into. We took a bus tour around the outer part of the city, and we finished our trip with a beer at the famous Delirium cafe and amazing seafood. During my trip to Paris this summer we took excursions to Giverny, Brussels, and Amsterdam (which will be in my next posts). This was my second trip to Giverny, and this time it was quite and serene. It felt like we were the only ones there and that made exploring Monet's gardens exciting! Anna Elizabeth It has been 9 weeks since I returned from France. I have been editing some of my photos from my trip and decided to share them on here. I can't wait to finish looking through all of my photographs and see what is hidden within. More on the way soon!!! More to come this weekend.... Anna Elizabeth Madeline, Dr. Burns, and I had lunch at a cafe, then explored the area around our hotel making stops at the Place de Vosges and the Hotel Sully. Our second day was filled with crepes and a wonderful walking tour around the city. We walked through the Marais, around the Louvre, through the Place de la Concorde and down the Seine to Notre Dame. After the tour of Paris we had our welcome dinner, where I had the most amazing appetizer of eggs and mayonnaise (which apparently is a French delicacy). On Wednesday we had our all day tour of the Louvre, we looked at paintings by the masters as well as paintings from 19th century France. After the Louvre we went to an Israeli spice store, walked through Notre Dame and did a little shopping at Shakespeare and company. We spent our evening on the lawn of the Champs des Mars drinking wine and reveling in the fact that we were in Paris.
Seven years ago I traveled to France for the first time, little did I know this country and its capital city would become my second home, the place where I feel I belong. During our stay in Paris, I fell in love with the city, the culture, the language, and the people. My true love for the French language started my freshman year in college, I spent the following summer studying at the Institute de Catholique in Paris. I spent so much time exploring the city and all it had to offer, the beautiful parks, the overwhelming museums, and the wonderful French cuisine. A major change and two years later I found myself back in Paris. This past summer I spent a lot of time in museums (as a new Art History major) that Paris has to offer, walking the halls of the Louvre and the Musée d'Orsay studying about ancient Egyptians, Renaissance masters, and the game changing impressionist and post-impressionist. In 24 hours I will be on a plane again to the city that has my heart. This summer I will be traveling with a group led by the professor that inspired me to study art history, learning about the artists that I have grown to love over the past two summers. But I think what makes this trip more special than the trips in the past is that I am traveling with some of my best friends!
