Seven years ago I traveled to France for the first time, little did I know this country and its capital city would become my second home, the place where I feel I belong. During our stay in Paris, I fell in love with the city, the culture, the language, and the people. My true love for the French language started my freshman year in college, I spent the following summer studying at the Institute de Catholique in Paris. I spent so much time exploring the city and all it had to offer, the beautiful parks, the overwhelming museums, and the wonderful French cuisine. A major change and two years later I found myself back in Paris. This past summer I spent a lot of time in museums (as a new Art History major) that Paris has to offer, walking the halls of the Louvre and the Musée d'Orsay studying about ancient Egyptians, Renaissance masters, and the game changing impressionist and post-impressionist. In 24 hours I will be on a plane again to the city that has my heart. This summer I will be traveling with a group led by the professor that inspired me to study art history, learning about the artists that I have grown to love over the past two summers. But I think what makes this trip more special than the trips in the past is that I am traveling with some of my best friends!
